There’s a brainteaser that’s making it’s way around the internet right now and it’s confusing the crap out of everyone! Some people are referring to it as “fruit algebra” – it’s basically a math problem using apples, coconuts, and bananas. There’s been a bunch of different versions of this same puzzle making it’s rounds online since December.

#### It looks extremely simple at first, but as you read over it again – it gets more confusing..

#### And no one can agree on what the correct answer is!

#### So, let’s figure this out together.. or at least try!

#### Let’s assume that each apple is worth **10**, and that’s how they’re equalling up to 30.

#### Then, if you take the one apple (10) and add it to the two sets of bananas equalling 18, that probably means each set of bananas counts as 4.. right? Right.

#### Now, here come the coconuts halves. If we subtract two coconut halves from a set of bananas, it equals 2, meaning each coconut half counts as 1.

#### So, for the last part, they really try to trick you! We have one coconut half, an apple and a set of bananas, so it would seem as though the answer would be 16 – but it’s SO not.

#### Look a little closer, they only gave us one coconut half this time and the banana set seems to only show 3 bananas in it, instead of 4.

#### That would be **1 + 10 + 3 = 14**! So, that’s what we believe the answer is. What’s your guess?
