Becoming a new mother is one of the most beautiful and rewarding things to happen to a woman, but it also comes with it’s challenges and difficulties. Many new mothers experience symptoms of postpartum depression, which include insomnia, loss of appetite, intense irritability, and difficulty bonding with the baby.
Danielle, a new mother living in Phoenix, posted a photo of herself to her Facebook page in September – only three days after giving birth to her son, Ocean. She was already experiencing some of the demanding challenges of motherhood, both physically and emotionally. The photo went viral, because the shot of her and her newborn son, paired with the text alongside the photo were an extremely honest portrayal of the things new moms can go through.

The reality is, many mothers around the world experience these feelings and they aren’t often talked about openly. That is because of the fear of being judged by others and being seen as an unfit mother.
It was an extremely brave move for Danielle to post this message. SHARE this post to thank Danielle for her honesty and being 100% open to starting this conversation that needs to be talked about way more often than it is now.
