NBA Player Gives Up Career To Care For Pregnant Wife After She Is Diagnosed With A Brain Tumor

Many people take the marriage vows, but few actually take them seriously. The traditional marriage vows include promising to stand by each other through sickness and in health.


1Jrue Holiday who is a guard for the New Orleans Pelicans is not only talking the talk, but walking the walk and showing the world he took his marriage vows very seriously.


2He is married to Lauren Holiday who used to play for the U.S. women’s soccer team. She was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. Lauren is also pregnant with their first child together. Jrue knew he had to step up to take care of his family and he has left the NBA to take care of his wife.


3The NBA is in full support of Jrue and have offered their full support to the family at this trying time in their lives.


4Jrue and Lauren got married in 2013 in a beautiful ceremony. They also have the best meet-cute story. They were both attending UCLA and a girl asked Jrue if he was Darren Collinson. Jrue told her he was not, and Lauren who was sitting behind them and heard the exchang piped up and told Jrue he was cuter then Darren anyways.


5The couple began dating after Jrue was drafted to the Philadelphia 76ers in 2009.
