Kanye West and Taylor Swift have been bitter rivals in the music industry ever since Kanye interrupted Taylor during her acceptance speech at the 2009 VMAs. Taylor had just been awarded the VMA for Best Female Video for “You Belong With Me” — beating out Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies.”

As the singer took the stage to give her acceptance speech, Kanye jumped up on stage and took over the mic, “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”

In 2009, Kanye attempted to apologize for his ‘VMA’ outburst on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Show” and commented on the event once again on “Ellen” in 2010.

Later on, Taylor Swift appeared on ABC Radio and said that Kanye called her to apologize, but it wasn’t long before Swift took a jab towards West in her song titled “Innocent.”

She performed the song, said to be about West, at the 2010 MTV VMAs while footage of his interruption played in the beginning of the song.
