Master Sergeant, Jacinto Bernardo, had purchased a fixer upper as his first home with hopes of remodeling it into the house of his dreams. But due to a financial situation and getting deployed again, he had no choice but to put everything on hold.
While away on deployment, he asked his friend/fellow veteran Jeremy Epperson to watch the house while he was gone. When Epperson first entered the house, he was shocked by the home’s condition: The backyard was a mess, fixtures were falling off, the flooring was old, etc.
He knew his friend deserved better than this, so he took it upon himself to raise $20,000 in cash and found several volunteers willing to help with the labor.
