A Tattoo Artist Is Offering Free Tattoos To People With Self-Harm Scars

This post made by a tattoo artist living in Brisbane, Australia, has gone viral after she posted that she would offer free tattoos to people who have self-harm scars.

22-year-old Whitney Develle posted about this offer on her Instagram and Facebook pages last week, but due to the overwhelming amount of interest, Whitney had to change the original post to only offer 50 free tattoos and discounts for others on their tattoos.

A friend had showed Develle her own scars and this is where she got the idea from, she told 9 News Australia.

She also told 9 News Australia: “I have been up late most nights since with a close friend replying to each and every person.The hardest part was that statistically probably 98 percent of those who had written in were people had self-harmed. Majority of them were too scared to speak with a tattooist out of fear of being judged. No one should ever have to feel like a public museum for people to ridicule.” Develle will begin her services on March 17th and fulfill the requests she can through the end of the year.
