David Trinidad noticed that his wife’s heart rate was above average and posted the data to the popular message board site Reddit.

“I’m not sure if something is wrong with the sensor,” he wrote, adding that she logged 10 hours of activity in Fitbit’s “fat burning zone” without doing any regular exercising. “Is there a way to reset or recalibrate the device? I’d like to try that before I contact customer service about a possible replacement.”

Here is the pic of the screen that started it all! Mom and baby are doing ok. Spoke to the doctor yesterday.

At first he thought there was something malfunctioning with his wife’s device, but they decided to visit the doctor to make sure everything was okay. After further inspection, Trinidad’s wife, Ivonne, found out she was pregnant!

A Fitbit spokesperson told Mashable that this was the first reported “pregnancy” alert from a device.
