Having a big wedding is something every girl dreams about since they’re little girls. But for Quinn Duane, that dream became a nightmare when her fiance called off their wedding at the last minute. She had spent months planning a $35,000 wedding at Sacramento’s luxurious Citizen Hotel.
Because the family could not be refunded, they decided to offer the wedding reception feast, which had been planned for 120 guests, to the communities homeless people.
90 homeless single people enjoyed a meal that included appetizers, salad, gnocchi, salmon, and even tri-tip roast. Some even dressed up for the occasion!
“I hope that when she looks back at this, she knows she was doing something good with a bad situation,” Duane said.
Part of the wedding price tag includes a nonrefundable honeymoon, so on Sunday, mother and daughter set off for Belize.
