A woman walking her dog in Jacksonville, Florida, was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver. After the horrible incident, the victim’s dog was seen lying in the street near where the accident took place.
At 6:15 a.m. on Friday, police responded to a call from someone who found a 42-year-old woman dead in the road. According to neighbors, the woman was believed to be walking her dog when the incident occurred, local CBS affiliate Action News Jax reports.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office: A semi-truck struck the woman in a nearby convenience store parking lot, dragging her into the street. Police also said that the driver may not be aware that they struck the woman, reports Action News Jax.
The woman was later identified by the family as Kelly Black.
