Hu Guangzhou, a 55-year-old mentally ill farmer living in Shandong, China, has been building a seven-story house for the past 10 years using stone blocks and clay.

He’s been working tirelessly on the house, so his brothers can move into it. The only issue with that is, both of his brothers have been dead for the past 10 years.

According to Epoch Times, Hu will not believe that his brothers are no longer alive, even when told by the local officials or by other people around him.

The house has been compared to the crooked and rickety house in the popular anime film Howl’s Moving Castle for being similar in shape.

There are and have been concerns of the safety of the home, but also Hu has received many praises for his work on the seven-story house. No one has it in their hearts to tear it down.

Hu is suffering from “a biased personality.” He has no children, refuses to go into any type of nursing home, but he is receiving money quarterly from the local government.
