Thoroughbred racehorses spend all of their lives entertaining people, but once they can no longer earn an income for racing, they are unfortunately often slaughtered for their meat.
Michael Blowen was sick and tired of hearing about these former champions being sent off to die once they were too old to race. He wanted to give these horses a special place to retire where they would still be admired, respected and most of all – protected.
