93-year-old widower Harry Scott eats lunch every single day at a local McDonald’s. It’s a tradition that he started back in 2013 when his wife passed away.
Even on Scott’s birthday, he still went to the local McDonald’s just like any other day. But this time, the employees had a special treat planned for him.
The employees at the McDonald’s in Workington, Cumbria, planned a birthday celebration for Scott. They surprised the old man with banners, balloons, and some nice gifts. He even received a bottle of his favorite whiskey.
Scott tells the Daily Mail, “The kids who come in here are mine as I don’t have any of my own. It’s company for me. When they threw the surprise party, I had to wipe my eyes.”
When he lost his wife six years ago, the world seemed dark to him. But one day, he went to this very McDonald’s, and soon, things started looking a little better.
Employee Jack Holliday says, “He’s a one-off. We get regular customers but he’s one that stands out. He’s bubbly and full of life, especially for a 93-year-old.”
