9 Weird Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Your Own Belly Button

Something that we all have in common is that we all have belly buttons! Basically, it’s just a scar that we get on our abdomen after detaching the umbilical cord.


Humans have the most prominent and obvious navels out of all mammals. But, just because we all have a belly button, doesn’t mean they’re all the same.

There are many differences and variations – some people have innies and some people have outies – and there are some other things about these little holes in our stomachs that most people don’t know.

There is one way you wouldn’t have a belly button and some people don’t because of it, like the model shown above rocking the runway.

It’s called umbilical hernia or gastroschisis. What happens with this is the intestines protrude through the umbilical opening in the abdominal muscles.
