For the 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion, this 11-year-old boy in Normandy, France, stood on Omaha Beach for an hour and held salute as part of a personal project.
By doing this, the boy wished to say thank you to all of the soldiers who fought and died on D-Day morning 70 years earlier. He was wearing a WWII-style uniform and the police wouldn’t allow him to enter the cemetery where the D-Day celebration was being held, so he stood alone on the beach with his flag in the sand and held salute for more than an hour.
While he stood there on the beach in silence, he was joined by many interested people passing by. Wait until 5 minutes into this heartfelt video to see who joins him in memorializing our soldiers who have fallen fighting for our country.
